Brian is also a Senior Partner at Indiana’s largest Business Brokerage firm, which has been responsible for over 1000 sell side transactions since 1983. Prior experience includes several entrepreneurial ventures and serving as Vice President of Franchise Development at Prime Hospitality and Director of Franchising for Choice Hotels. He is also co-founder of Ninth Rule Capital, a boutique private investment group targeting mid-market investments. This broad range of entrepreneurial and corporate experience as well as Brian’s passionate commitment to his clients has served Brian well to achieve a reputation of excelling at getting successful deals done.

Brian has received the Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor ("CM&AA") designation. Mr. Hester began his career in 1970 as assistant to the President of Standard Life Insurance Company. In 1981, Mr. Hester and his partner, Larry Metzing, started Indiana Business Brokers, Inc. In early 1998, Indiana Business Brokers acquired Wolfe Business Resource Corporation and changed the name to Indiana Business Resource, Inc. In 2004, Indiana Business Resource merged with another leading business brokerage firm, Sunbelt Indiana, to become Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource.

Mr. Hester brings a unique and extensive background of experience to the small and mid-sized transaction as an intermediary. His experience includes 17 years of acquisitions and finance as an active intermediary for clients throughout Indiana. His extensive personal network with buyers, sellers, accountants, bankers, attorneys, and other business associates is an added value for any client relationship.

Mr. Hester's education experience includes BS from Ball State University. One of the most integral facets of Mr. Hester is his work within the community. Has been either the chairman or on the board of directors of the following: Sigma Chi International Fraternity, American Red Cross, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, United Way of Central Indiana, Hispanic Education Center, Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Indianapolis Athletic Club, Leadership Ventures and is a graduate and past chairman of the distinguished Stanley K. Prior to joining Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource, Tim Koger was the Senior Vice President/President-Midwest for a leading National Mortgage Company. With over 20 years of experience in the lending and financial services industry, Mr. Koger has a proven track record of success. While managing a 15 state territory which included a staff of 120 account executives and 110 operational employees in seven separate locations (Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Detroit, Grand Rapids) Mr. Koger was frequently recognized as a top leader for growth, profitability, efficiency, quality and customer service. During this time Mr. Koger grew his division from $40 million per month to over $1 billion. For his contributions Mr. Koger received the coveted President’s Council Award nine times in a span of 14 years.

Mr. Koger is a passionate customer service advocate and understands the needs of both buyers and sellers in a confidential business transaction. Mr. Koger has an extensive history of value creation responsibility and a skill set that would compliment any business transaction.

Mr. Koger received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Ball State University. He has recently completed the requirements for the CMSBB Business Broker designation. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.

As a business owner in seek of transition, Tim developed a long term relationship with Sunbelt from the outside in, first as a client then as a colleague. Having been personally guided through the delicate process of buying and selling businesses, he now serves clients much the same way Sunbelt served him. With experience as a mid-market regional controller, in Fortune 500 sales, capital management, commercial real estate, a M&A intermediary, and a Sunbelt client, Tim brings a unique skill set to the Sunbelt team.

That experience, coupled with a veracious appetite for success, transfers a rare value to his clients. He has a BA in accounting from Eastern Illinois University, is credentialed in his practice as a CM&AA, and as a CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) . Tim Lyons was the 2009 recipient of the CM&AA of the Year Award.
The Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor ("CM&AA") designation is jointly awarded by the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors and Loyola University to professionals that evidence mastery of the M&A body of knowledge and a commitment to staying abreast of new developments in the field of investment banking and mergers and acquisitions. It also recognizes professional achievement and competence, serves as a tool to both attract and serve new clients, and provides identification with other professionals in the field.

CM&AA professionals are accredited experts in one or more professional fields (i.e. CPA, accountant, lawyer, corporate finance, valuation analyst, CFA, or MBA with wall street type investment banking experience) and understand the overall investment banking process for selling and buying middle-market companies (revenues typically ranging from $5 million to $150 million).

A seasoned veteran of assisting business buyers and sellers throughout Indiana for nearly three decades, Larry Metzing is a Senior Partner at Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource. He has been an investor or principal in several businesses serving the healthcare, apparel manufacturing, office coffee service, retail chocolate franchise, domestic product manufacturing, residential real estate development and residential construction industries.

Metzing’s extensive personal network with buyers, sellers, accountants, bankers, attorneys and other business associates is an added value for any client relationship.

He began his career in 1970 with Ernst & Ernst in Indianapolis. A decade later, he formed an entity to acquire, own and operate a chain of nursing homes, a business he later sold. In 1981, Metzing co-founded Indiana Business Brokers, merged in 2005 with Sunbelt Business Advisors to form Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource, which has become Indiana’s largest and most experienced business intermediary. Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource offers a full range of business transaction services, including market value estimates, professional acquisition, divestiture and business marketing and transaction negotiation services. The firm concentrates on small to mid-market businesses in a range of disciplines.

Metzing earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. He is an Indiana certified public accountant and a licensed real estate broker. He serves on the entrepreneurship advisory board at Ball State University, is past president of the Miller College of Business Alumni Board and past president of the Venture Club of Indiana. Sunbelt managing partner Ed Mysogland guides the development of the organization, its knowledge strategy, and the Sunbelt initiative, which is to continue to be Indiana’s premier business brokerage by bringing investment banker caliber of transaction services to small and mid-sized businesses. As a member of the firm for the last 19 years, Ed is also responsible for the valuation and price positioning of Sunbelt’s clients. He has taught valuation of tangible and intangible assets both regionally and nationally and has served as an expert witness in Indiana.

Ed is an Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA) designated by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser (CMEA) designated by the NEBB Institute, Senior Business Analyst (SBA) designated by the Society of Business Appraisers, Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers Machinery & Technical Specialties (MTS) discipline, and Candidate Member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. He is a graduate of Butler University with a degree in Finance with a minor in English.

Prior to joining Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource, Dick most recently served as a business consultant, a role that seemed appropriate given his prior experience as the President and CEO of his own company. Mr. Parks also has extensive financial expertise, including experience as CFO and Vice President.

Dick has provided many services to his past clients that will benefit his current clientele. He has provided a wide range of business counseling and advisory services, having assisted in multiple acquisitions and integrations of the acquired company. This experience, combined with his experience in owning and operating his own business, allows Mr. Parks to assist business sellers and buyers with the expertise and knowledge they desire.

In his spare time, Dick serves on the Fishers Rotary Club Board of Directors and has been involved in the Fishers Chamber of Commerce and Fishers Advisory Commission. Mr. Parks is a graduate of Morehead State University, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration with Area of Concentration in Accounting.

Steve is a CPA and has successfully represented hundreds of clients buying and selling businesses through Sunbelt Indiana Business Resource. As a Business Intermediary, Steve’s area of expertise includes Mergers and Acquisitions for manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and mid-size service businesses. His background and training in large Fortune 500 corporations and managing small entrepreneurial type companies has given Steve a wide breadth of experiences to draw from.

Steve began his career in 1970 with the public Accounting Firm of Ernst & Ernst in Indianapolis. He joined Central Soya Co. of Fort Wayne, IN as an Auditor and subsequently held positions as an Accounting Manager and Financial Analyst for International Operations. In 1980, he joined Staley Mfg. Co. of Decatur, IL as a Division Controller. In 1987, he became Corporate Controller for a small biotech company called United AgriSeeds, later acquired by Dow Chemical. At Dow AgroSciences in Indianapolis, Steve enjoyed further success by holding positions of Financial Systems Development Manager, Global Cost Accounting Manager, and Credit Manager.

As a Credit Manager at Dow, Steve was actively engaged with customers and clients throughout North America and managed a risk portfolio over of $500 million. Having served in the role of Credit Manager as well as prior experiences in auditing, forensic auditing, financial and accounting management, Steve has become an expert in analyzing financial information and risk assessment.

Steve’s education and experience includes a BS degree in accounting from Ball State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of International Business Brokers Association.
